Inthanon 6

This race will give the opportunity for runners to circle around Doi Inthanon.

Start at Doi Inthanon National Park Headquarters 13:00 of Friday 29 October, 2021.

From the start, runners will run along the concrete road passing through Khun Klang Village - Doi Sure Ya then follow the ranger patrol route to Pha Mon Kao and Khun Wang Villages. From there, runners will make a steep climb up Pha Ngam, also known as Two-Seasons Cliff. On the mountain top, at 2,060 meters above sea level, the breathtaking, panoramic 360-degree view is waiting for all runners. Then, runners will descend to Pa Kluay Village along the dirt and concrete road all the way to Pong Noi Mai, Pong Noi Kao, Puay, and Muang Ang Villages to the lowest point of the race at 400 meters above sea level, skirting the Mae Teen-Mae Taeng stream to Park Ranger Check-Point 1. Here runners will be treated to a view of the gorgeous Mae Klang Waterfall.

The route then follows the pilgrimage trail formerly used by the Buddhist monk, Viriyong and his followers, and then passes through a dry Dipterocarp forest to Mae Aab Nai Village, before proceeding to aid station at Mae Klang Luang Village, and the Paganyaw hill tribe settlement.

Then the route will take runners on a climb up to Pha Tang for the sublime view of Doi Hua Sua. Khun Mae Ya Royal Project, and further on to Mae Aum Watershed Management Unit, where the pine forest and banana tree plantations are mixed. The route will then descend to Mae Samsob, Mae Rak, and Pa Pong Piang Villages before climbing up along the ridge line to the highest point of the route where runners will encounter two adjacent chedis, Naphamethinidon, and Naphaphonphumisiri. These temples were built to honour the 60th birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1987, and the 60th birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit in 1992, respectively. The last section will come down the hill through the Jeep Track route before arriving at the finish line.

The total cut-off-time is 48 hrs. The closing time is at 13:00 on Sunday 31 October, 2021
